Museums and the Web 2002: Welcome
The international conference about museums and the Web!

The Proceedings of the sixth annual Museums and the Web conference, MW2002 can be best perused in the Keepoint keePcontent lay out as described below. This is however enabled by installing the Keepoint software provided on the CD (free of charge, as a part of the Proceedings). Please note that Keepoint software can be installed only on PC(s) running Microsoft Windows Operating System with Microsoft Internet Explorer 4.01 or above (see details of System Requirements)

Users of operating systems other than Microsoft Windows, or browsers, other than Microsoft Internet Explorer, can access the contents of the CD without any additional requirements, as usual.

What is Keepoint?

Keepoint is an innovative Web Information Management software from Saora Inc. It enables you to save the web contents (or any information in HTML format) with a single mouse click, assign keywords to them and keep track of them. What is more, you can add notes directly onto the pages and send the annotated (or highlighted) content by email, including all the images and your annotations. Keepoint automatically sorts and organizes your web research results, which are easily accessible in time and content sorted order or for search by keywords etc. Most importantly, there is no need to specify filenames, folder destinations etc. so that there is no wasted time filing, sorting, organizing and printing for offline reading. The new version of Keepoint also saves the pages with 'Keep This Page with Keepoint' button/link (on Saora's partner web-sites), by simply clicking that button. Click here for details on the functions of Keepoint.

What is Keepoint keePcontent for MW2002?

Keepoint keePcontent is a special version of Keepoint 1.0, which can hold pre-defined information, such as the Proceedings of MW2002, for easy access and retrieval, along with providing the main Keepoint functionality of storing, annotating and so on. In this version, you can not only view and browse the pre-defined contents, in this case, MW2002 Proceedings, easily, but will also be able to save articles from the Proceedings or other pages from the web, on to your Hard Disk, for offline browsing, annotate them or otherwise manage your web research sessions with Keepoint's intuitive knowledge management functions. The index pages of the contents of the Musuems and the Web 2002 Proceedings have already been saved in Keepoint so that you can access them even without the CD. For the rest of the contents, you will need to have the CD inserted. You can, as you browse them, save more pages from the CD into Keepoint for your personal use.

Keepoint keePcontent for MW2002 is a special Complimentary version, provided for the participants of MW2002, free of charge and has the following constraints:

  • Amount of web pages or links that can be saved is limited to 70
  • Information Saved will be automatically deleted after 20 days (Of course, the proceedings of the CD are never deleted!)

Some of the other features not available in this compliementary version include - Sharing via email, Extraction, Hold & expiry time settings etc..(see Functions Details) For complete Keepoint suit of knowledge management advantages, purchase of the Keepoint 1.0 is required.

To take advantage of this, you need to install the Keepoint software provided on the CD (free of charge, as a part of the Proceedings). Please note that Keepoint software can be installed only on PC(s) running Microsoft Windows Operating System with Microsoft Internet Explorer 4.01 or above (see details of System Requirements)
